    Injured Spouse Situation

Filed returns for a client. Filed injured spouse form along with 1040 but clients received a letter from Treasury Financial managment Services. Basically sating that the tax refund is being taken to pay debt.

My question is who needs to be dealt with on this matter. The IRS or the one who the debt was owed. Can the IRS reverse this? There is an insert stating to send the 8379 to the IRS but it already has been.

I usually have good luck on the injured spouse forms and they get the refund. Not sure what happened here.

Are you sure the form was actually filed. This year I had one that the form was never sent by software company.I would call IRS to see if they received the form.If not file another.

        They get missed

When efiling, I find sometimes, the injured spouse gets missed. Send it again.
