    Form 1098 & Goodwill rant

All lenders should be required to report a principal balance summary. That is showing beginning balance, amounts borrowed during the year, principal payments and ending balance.

Goodwill-Salavtion Army etc. should be required to give values of items donated. People would pay for the service for crying out loud.

Lenders are required to inform borrowers of the pay off figure on mortgages these days.

However charitable organizations do not have, nor can afford, the staff necessary to
value each piece of clothing they sort out daily.

But I can commiserate with you about our thankless task of adjudicating client claims for
values. why just today, ...... (rant rant rant!) grin

Wee glasses of Patron Silver w/my 83 y.o. neighbors- also celebrating his birthday, and the bottle of red wine a client was kind (and clever) enough to bring to his appt yesterday. Cheers, indeed!

Ah! Had to look that one up since I'm not a tequila type of guy.

My favorite non client (really) is a fellow who does his own returns online, but will call me off and on for tax questions. And every year or two will stop by with a bottle of Chivas Regal obtained from the class 6 store on post.
