Spouse feeling grumpy about so much time spent at office doing taxes. So went home early last night to nice dinner, and decided to impress spouse by making strawberry shortcake, fresh strawberries, real whipped cream, etc. Spouse says "this cake tastes funny." Well, yes....it seems I sliced up the cornbread instead of the loaf of pound cake for the base. Actually, it wasn't too bad, IMO.

One time
One time my mom, who can't see too well, put cinnamon (instead of sage) in the Thanksgiving dressing (stuffing). Mmmm. We found out she doesn't taste too well either, apparently, cause she didn't even notice. We remember that fondly every Thanksgiving. If you loan someone $20 and never see them again, it was probably worth it.Comment

Reminds me of the time I sprinkled cayenne pepper all over the french toast instead of the cinnamon. I've got to give up trying to cook.Comment

Spouse Out of the Kitchen
Burke, you tried so hard, so it was the thought that counts
I try to keep my husband out of the kitchen for meal preparation, one only knows what we would end up eating, and he does smile, when I give him the "deposits" to go to the bank.
