MMLLC's and Form 2553 S-corp election

Does a multi-member LLC filing to be taxed as an S-Corp, need to first file a form 8832 to be classified first, as a corporation? I've heard from other boards that MMLLC's are automatically classified by the IRS as a partnership, making them have to be classified before electing the S-corp tax status.

S Election Only

Only have to file the S election as they are already an entity and not disregarded.
