    Client purchased residental rental property. Can he take transfer tax, attorney fees, hazard insurance as rental deduction or should these item be part of closing cost and deduct over 27.5 years

    There is a good chart in TTB pg 6-2 for these costs/expenses, it references the HUD-1 Line items

      And if you can't find it there your first line of research is Pub 17 or the instructions for Sch E.
      Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.
