TN DOR Convenience Fee

TN DOR is sending out postcards to business entities that say "FINAL NOTICE" (it's the ONLY notice) telling them to file a report online or print a form for mailing because DOR is not sending paper out. (It's just a report collecting fees, no heavy lifting - Board or LLC member names, addresses, etc.)

Client called me laughing saying he just filed his report online and was charged $8.25 "convenience fee" for the privilege of filing online rather than using a 44 cent stamp.

I told him, "You know it's bad when YOU get charged so THEY won't have to mail a report or enter any information manually."

Rita if they are doing this, I'm going to barrage Nashville with more paper returns than they've seen in years. Including the SUTA, etc.

We should encourage the Tennessee EA membership to do the same thing.
