What Program are You using for Estimates?

What program is everyone using to calculate estimates? The last firm I worked for used BNA. I was just curious if there were any other good programs out there.

I use the worksheet in TTB, page 24-7.

UltraTax make a very nice projection program, which seems more user friendly than BNA

Lacerte Planner

I use the Lacerte Tax Planner which integrates with my Lacerte tax prep software. I like it very much, it has all the controls of automated loss carryforwards, AMT, etc. While it does not my state, it's still well worth it for the Federal only.

has in the tax program an estimator. You can fill in what projected income is if it will be different for the next year.

I have used it several times and it seems to work accurately.

Look at your software. I would think that it would be able to do estimates.

I use CCH's ProSystemFX. Anyone used their estimate program?

I would think that for the $$$, ProSystemFX would be pretty darned good.

New this year, as part of the tax prep software, is a tax planner for up to 7 years. You can change multiple variables within the planner and its very user friendly. Basically just a glorified Excel spreadsheet, but works well.
