    Client wants to know if Music lessons, Dance instructions & Art lessons for his kids is tax deductible?

    As long as kids are acquiring the skills no deduction. Of course, if we have little artists who perform already and have business income from this then it is CPE.

      Some of the surrounding schools & YMCA's offer summer day camps focusing on different skills & activities, like some of the ones you mentioned, and qualify for the Child Care Credit. Could anything like that perhaps fit your situation?

        Your client may be asking about it because of hearing about a state tax deduction. In Minnesota, music lessons for a kid in K-12 by a qualified instructor are deductible for state tax purposes, or, depending upon income, may qualify for a refundable tax credit.
