    Educational Credit-Who Claims?

    Couple are divorced. College student, in the 4th year lives with Dad. Mom paid the tuition for 2009. I don't believe she can claim the educational credit because she doesn't get to claim the child. Am I right on this?

      if all other qualifiers are met and father takes student as dependent the father can take credit.
      Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.
