    Pennsylvania Inheritance?

I'm trying to work with a lawyer who deals with Pennsylvania State Inheritance tax. I'm competent in several areas but I know almost nothing about state inheritance.

Can anyone refer me to an introductory course? "Pennsylvania State Inheritance for Dummies?"

    Where might i get started?

The TaxBook does not seem to cover it.

Also, does anyone know anything about Lackner software for estate and inheritance?

    all responses welcome,
    thanks in advance

Hope this will take you to the page of forms (PA Rev 1500) & instructions (PA Rev-1501) for the PA Inh Tax, and the other Schedules, too.

Thanks, BP. Yes it did take me to the form and instructions. Not quite the 'easy read' which i was hoping for.

But, hey, it is what it is.

      Anyway, i'll read it now.

Is $$ willed to a charity exempt from PA inheritance tax?

        "Inheritance Tax
        Inheritance tax is imposed...

0 percent on transfers to a surviving spouse....

15 percent on transfers to other heirs, except charitable organizations...."

It seems that $$ willed to a qualified charity is precluded from inheritance tax. But yet i can't find it addressed directly. The words in the Rev-1501 instuctions are confusing as heck. (Like most of you, working my but off, i don't have much brain power left to decipher the 'legal speak' in the instructions.)

I was not able to find this previously because i was searching on the word 'charity' instead of 'charitable.'
