    And

Don't forget the standrad deduction for charitable contributions, standard mileage, standrad medical deductions, employee business expenses

Seems like anything that is not reported on an officail "year end form" such as a 1098 form, etc, is all a standrad deduction.

      Grouchy today

Lotsa hurry up and wait and nothing is just cut and dried today.

That mortgage insurance amortization thing is a pain in the neck.

....And I'm hungry and nothing sounds good. Maybe a little cheese with my "whine"?

Yeah, and I wake up this morning and log in from home trying to get something done while nobody (except us cause we have it made) is awake. I'm getting geared up, and the cursor just DISAPPEARS. I mean, IT'S GONE. No amount of scrolling is gonna make it come back either. Where did it go? What? Can't work on Saturday, You Cursor?!

I have a theory about why it's called a "Cursor".
If you loan someone $20 and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Move your mouse/cursor to START..I know, NO cursor. Move mouse all the way to the left and then all the way down. Left click to popup START. Light up RUN and left click.Your cursor should come back.

I am no wiz at computers but I had this happen to me when for some reason my cursor would move beyond the limits of my screen. When that happened my cursor would disapear. By accident, I got on start and I clicked ( not knowing it was on start) and up came the pop up. As I moved the mouse, various choices were lighting up, so I left clicked and the cursor came back when I was on run. I then clicked on cancel to close the popup and continued using my programs.

I still don't know how to fix my mouse/cursor "out of range" problem but I needed a new computer anyway. So the old computer is being used for programs that I have not transfered to the new computer yet.

Of course you could always reboot if you are sitting next to the computer. My old computer wouldn't reboot from a "Remote access" as it would hang up and not complete a reboot without a hard shut down.

                      Disagree

I cannot see support for a cap on non-cash contributions. The fact of the matter is that we have to educate our clients whether we like it or not. No matter what amount they use they have to have the receipt from the charity AND an itemization of what they gave AND a value per item. I have been telling my clients this for years and believe it or not it is sinking in on some of them.

I had a client that for years told me the amount was, depending on the year, between $400 and $500. A few years ago I asked if he itemized what he gave and he responded he did not. I told him what he should do going forward. The following year his non-cash came in at over $2500. He was grateful that I explained how it worked and wondered how much he had left on the table in all the previous years.

Some folks cannot afford to give much in the way of cash to charity, however, they have children that out grow clothes long before they have outlived their usefulness (the clothes, not the kids) and they give those clothes to charities that support the needy.

The charitable deductions are there for a very good reason.
I would put a favorite quote in here, but it would get me banned from the board.
