    DRAKE Question

The Drake error message says "You have an Unverified Field" on your worksheet.

So what do they mean "Unverified?" I've looked at the worksheet and every single field has been filled out except their alphabet soup at the top. Isn't EVERYTHING supposed to be verified by a tax preparer before filling out these screens??

Generally this refers to amounts carried over by the software from the prior year.
Unverified means we have not clicked upon F-4 while the cursor is on the amount involved
or we can press Shift plus Ctrl plus Space Bar while in that particular screen. When this
is done the green or red light on the number disappears. This is used by Drake for us
to CHECK to make sure the amount is correct. It is usually correct. I forget to do this
all of the time. If we do not VERIFY the amount, it will NOT be used in the calculation,
    making the return WRONG!

      Yes!!!

Thanks Fred! You had the situation identified, and as soon as I did what you
said, the color went away, and return was "fixed."

Snaggletooth: My pleasure. I enjoy your posts.
Are you aware that there is a Drake Forum or message board which is excellent and
addresses Drake Tax Software Issues as well as other tax issues? You will need your
password but it would have been on the half page labels you received with your Drake Tax
        Software CD.

        It can be accessed at:

Also another good tax message board is:
        http://www.quickfinder.com/message_board.

        It loads slowly.

I attend a NATP or PTI tax seminar every year in Charlotte and I believe you do also.

        Best wishes.

It probably works for him. He may have forgotten that you have to sign up for and be a member of the Drake forum. It does not allow just anyone to go in and look at things. I don't remember the exact procedure, but I seem to remember that you have to go to drake support and tell them that you want to sign up for the forum. They will handle part of it for you after you give them a login name and password, if it hasn't changed.

            Hope this helps

Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".
