Yes you did. It's just that mean, nasty tax preparer streak running through you.

Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".

He would not make eye contact with me. When the service department calls to tell me they are picking me up to get my car, I think I'll request that they send HIM to get me! Hee hee. (No, I did not say THAT.)
If I was the employer and someone brought this to my attention, I would be appreciative of this. Obviously I would want proof first which should be easy to do by HIS canceled check for which HE has none. I dont think small businesses that are always on the look out for new clients, understand the great resource a tax preparer can be to them. Wouldnt you agree?

experience about 25 years ago, when working for HRB as preparer one client complained about his return not being right etc, so office manager gave him return free. the next year i was office manager and he complained of same thing about a preparer, there was nothing wrong with the return, and i refused to give him free, so he called district office and they said give him free and a certificate for next year. i gave him free return but no certificate.
The following year he tried again and i told him no, and district no, that he wasn't getting any more free returns from my office. he still continued to come to office but paid for his return.
now, i wonder if he stopped because i put an end to it or because he was finally working enough to pay for his return.

          AZ-TAX,
While I understand where you are coming from, and in principle agree, could this possibly run afoul of the new IRS privacy rules?

Well, now, that is certainly something to consider.

Nah, I just run my mouth to you guys. The original scaredy cat right here, folks.

Well, actually, I know God can handle this better than I can.

              But

I may call the boss about the guy who brought me from the garage to my office. Fast Freddy (yes, that is what he calls himself) kept calling me Cinderella, and I don't know if that was a compliment, just his pet name for the ladies, or if he thought I looked like I had been scrubbing my step-mother's floors all day with a toothbrush.

Now that is pretty good Rita on the last part.

This is really off topic here but...

When I was working on my old volkswagen beetle I would often go to the local Auto Zone to get parts. Talk about turning heads. All men and I got the look like "what is she doing in here". I was called everything from honey, sweetie, got a babe once or twice. Plus was asked several times was I sure I knew that was the part I wanted, etc.

Well my brother got me a VW mechanics shirt. I wore it the next time I went into Autozone and I was taken a little more serious. I guess it was the shirt lol

Haha! Funny story! So you are a mechanic, too! Awesome!

When Prince Charming brought my car back he called me "Sweetie". Twice.

                  Hey, what happened to Cinderella!?

Last friday i met with a some owners who had a "situation." We talked back and forth for a bit. And it was a nice conversation.

Then one of the owners asked a question.

The conversation had reached a point. I smiled at her. "I'd like to ask you to cut me a check before we talk about this further."

                    She didn't hesitate.

After i had the check in my hand i answered all of their questions to the best of my ability.

"You might get a penalty for not.... But [referring to this other matter] since you have a record a check cut to the township of XXXXXX which was cashed as per BK records....."

The woman thanked me for coming out. She said she had been worried about how this was going to get fixed.

I don't feel bad about asking for a deposit.

If things keep going in this direction i expect that she'll use me again. And thus i wont again be asking her for a deposit before i start.

Granted, it seems as though i have much less experience working for myself than AZ-Tax. So take my thoughts for what they're worth.
