    Peace Officer Pension

Where (in TTB or elsewhere) can I read information about a $5000 exemption for peace officer pensions?

    Look for retired public

safety officers on TTB 3-3. It is three thousand for accident, health and LTC insurance premiums paid. I can not think of any other examples.

Perhaps you are refering to the election to exclude premiums for accident, health insurance or long term care insurance from the distribution amounts of retired law enforcement, firefighters etc. ..............Lesser of the insurance premium or $ 3000.............See TTB page 13-25.

The 5,000 exemption could be a STATE thing. In Arizona we do not tax the first 2,500.00, of state pensions (but for AZ pensions only). You might check with your state.
