    Binder Quandry

This year I spent to extra funds to get the Deluxe edition with the notebook instead of the plastic binder. It looks nice.

So far this season, I have had the unfortunate experience a couple of times to have the binder come open and some of the pages fall out. This happens when it gets jostled or bumped.

It is aggravating to keep trying to put the many little holes in the binder. Takes 5-10 minutes ugh!

Is it just me or has anyone else had this occur.

The plastic binder never did this

    The binder

has opened when I didn't want it to a number of times for various reasons. This was an irritating experience. You can, however, open it to remove pages easily and it doesn't break on the ends as the plastic binder did. It is better than the plastic binder. It is expensive and needs some improvment. I think the deluxe edition is thicker than the binder is designed for.

I have no idea what binder you are talking about but if your having that many problems with it I would demand a replacement that works right.
Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.

        Binder

The binder I ordered has cracked and shredded on the bottom edges from sliding it into and out of my book case. Maybe I use it to often. I sent a comment to TheTaxbook people.

Good and bad about the binder

It does tend to open unexpectedly.

I do think the Deluxe edition should have a larger binder. It is hard to turn the pages.

However, I enjoy being able to remove sheets, especially the worksheets, to make a copy.

I also like the idea of removing sheets, copying it, and then putting in the client tax folder concerning a tax issue. For future reference such as an IRS audit.

My advice would be to buy the CD version. In 2008 I bought both the book hardcopy and CD and fell in love with the CD so much that I only bough the CD version this year. My bookshelf is already thanking me. Way more easy and much quicker to not only find and search but instead of making copies of pages I simply have to hit print. Love it you should try it.

I purchased two notebooks, one for last year, and one for this year. I printed out all the update pages for 2008 and put into the binder, I quickly discovered that the rings in the binder are not tight (especially at the top), and the pages kept getting caught on the rings. I called them and they said to just squeeze them together. Did not help. I figured that I was the only one with this problem. I kept the 2009 in the original binding, at least until after tax season. I also have the disk and enjoy it, especially for searching and knowing it has all the updates. But I still reach for the book, old habits are hard to break. I also like that the book comes out so much earlier than the disk. I don't understand why the disks come out so much later.

It is good to hear that I am not the only person unhappy with the notebooks.
