    Energy Credits

I have not been able to find if energy saving ovens and dishwashers are allowed as energy credits. Nor have I been able to find them listed as NOT allowed. But since they are not listed I would assume they are not allowed as an energy credit ! Correct?

    Thanks, Duane Anderson, CPA

Not on the federal. Some states have different plans.

      In MN

the process does not start until March 2010 and has nothing to do with the income tax return filing. They are sitting on the federal money. I hope it is a loan the state has to pay back.

This is NOT a tax credit. It is a STATE instant rebate when you purchase CERTAIN
        appliances:

        access: www.energysavers.gov/financial/rebates/state/_SC.cfm

to get started. Change the SC to the abreviation for your state.

It varies from state to state.

            Website

Here is the Energy Star website with details on the tax credits:

energy efficiency, energy efficient, energy efficient appliances, energy efficient homes, energy efficient buildings, ENERGY STAR

There is lots of good info there.

              In Minnesota and

Iowa they ran out of money the first day. They did take a waiting list, because the application now has to be back up by a invoice.
