      Just be careful, as banks are taken over by the FDIC and put into receivership, some have had their RTN changed.

            what's wrong with using check for numbers? that's where you're getting the account number why not the routing number too?

              Some preparers are not asking for a copy of a voided check or the client decides over the phone...knows his acct number but doesn't have checkbook with him to provide the RTN

                I have clients who give me a deposit slip, especially if it is a savings account. Not all banks provide routing no. on deposit slips.
