energy efficient appliance credit

I didn't think there was such a thing as an Energy Efficient Appliance Credit for federal purposes. Lots of people ask, and one swore that they heard about it.

Right there in the list on TTB 1-7 there is a reference to an Energy Efficient Appliance Credit on TTB 11-13. But flipping to that page, I'm not seeing the use of such a phrase, or discussion of such a credit.

So have I missed something?

I was a puzzled as you and then did an Internet search on Sec. 45M, which is indeed a credit for applicances BUT only for producers.

coming. Each state had a different start date, I think ours is next month. There is a credit for household appliance purchase coming our way!!

Georgia's program starts Feb 12 or thereabouts and lasts till the "money runs out".

However it is a rebate and has nothing to do with the Georgia tax return.

There is a STATE instant rebate obtained from the dealer
for most states for certain appliances like dishwashers,
refrigerators, etc. Go to:

https://www.energysavers.gov/financial/rebates/state_SC.cfm

Change the SC near the end to the abreviations for your state.
And the word in the above website is financial and there is NO
S before the forward slash in front of /state but my computer will
not print this out properly. Here the rebates start in March and
expire when the funds run out. This is NOT a tax credit.
