maybe GeekGirl, Harlan or other board members:
I have a corporate client who files as a foreign corporation in Georgia. The Dept of Revenue has sent two notices already with a comparison "Filed vs. DOR" columnar calculation. Their calculation is replete with errors - numbers that don't add up and purported descrepancies which actually agree with our return (i.e. NOT descrepancies).
In spite of our correspondence, which they do not acknowledge, they have sent a 30-day letter, in which time we can appeal their decision with the Commissioner's office. As explained above, they really didn't make any "decision" other than to send the same letter they have been sending all along.
And of course, there is no return phone number or return correspondence address.
Any of you who deal with State of Georgia have any advice for me?
