    Tax department at work

    About 4 weeks ago a long time successful resturant, with new owners of about 2 years, was closed up by the IRS. It seems that they were not paying the withholding taxes they withheld from employees. The business is now up for auction.

    This week, I noticed another eatery was not open. There were signs in all of the windows so I pulled up to read them the next day. The signs said "Closed because of non payment of sales tax".

    I guess this is a part of economic recovery plan.

    Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".
