    Linda,

My condolences as well. I have been close to families that have this "awful disability" and it is not easy, not on the person with the disability or the family members. I am sure that you did everything you could to make her life the best it could be. It is never easy losing a loved one.

      very kind

You are all very kind. When someone deals with mental illness for a long time, it is hard on them and their family. She was bi-polar for 20 years since a teen-ager, although we didn't know that until about 8 or 9 years ago.
The last year had been very bad for her. Other problems developed along with the bi-polar. Her life had deteriorated and she was very miserable. While she was in the hospital, she suffered 3 strokes and would have been paralyzed on one side and not been able to swallow. She was miserable before and that would have been intolerable for her.
We are thankful that she is no longer suffering with this problem. We have strong faith in the Bible's hope of a resurrection.
We have wonderful friends who were so comforting and supportive.
I have less stress now too. I can concentrate on other areas of my life that are important to me.
We miss her but would not want her to be alive under those conditions.
I appreciate your kind words. We are a sort of "family" here. There are times that I am not looking at the board for a little while but it really helps me especially during tax season.

I have a t/p that is asking whether or not they can claim dependency exemption for their "adult" child that is not working. Unemployed - NO Income - Adult Child is NOT part of the household.

So if I look at Qualifying Relative, relationship - son/daughter, etc, gross income - less than exemption amount or $ 3,650 for 2009, and taxpayer is paying more than half of the support for the "dependent" (t/p writing checks for rent, food and medical- Adult child paying no expenses and is not qualified to collect unemployment or SSA, etc. - -0- Income)

Is this correct? or am I missing something?

In 2015, Any Qualifying Relative MUST have LESS than $4,000.00 to be a dependent. Right? Along with the other rules 4,5 and 7.Please reply anyone.

I'm sorry, Linda. This is a great time of year to be comforted by a resurrection where there is no pain nor sorrow. Prayers and hugs.
