    Form 4361 Rejection

There was just a post on this the other day, but for the life of me, I cannot locate it now. So now I post the question again, why would the IRS reject a Form 4361? Form was completed and sent in with the ordination certification. Clients gets letter from Philadelphia stating "..denying your application because we did not receive the requested information." What information? Nothing was requested. Contact phone number listed in letter (1-215-516-3376) is not operational. ("Call cannot be completed as dialed, pls check the number, etc, etc."...)

There are two or three pieces of correspondence that go back and forth during the F4361 approval process. The correspondence basically is making sure that the applicant knows what he is doing and his church/denomination knows what is going on. Is it possible your applicant moved during this process? If the window is still open, you may just want to reapply and make sure your applicant does, in fact, qualify. Remember this is a theological qualification not an economic decision.

I have no clue about the incorrect phone number. The number I have that may help is 215-516-2713. This number does help when looking for a duplicate copy of F4361, however, it may be able to put you in the right direction.
