    Engery Star Appliances

Customer came in today and was told by the appliance salesman that his applicances qualify for a tax deduction.

I am not aware of any tax credit for applianes for personal use. Correct - right?

I get this one all the time. No credit for appliances. Here is a great link to see what qualifies for the credit. http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?...edits.tx_index

Check with your state--Oregon gives credit for energy-efficient appliance

        Appliance Rebates

The states are giving rebates for replacing some energy efficient appliances. The money comes from the US and each state can decide which appliances will receive rebates. Illinois will give a rebate for a dishwasher but Indiana won't. You can go here http://energysavers.gov/financial/70020.html to check your state's participation.

I stand corrected. Forgot about this from the states.
