    Widows Social Security Benefits

If a husband died and the widow is able to receive social security benefits based on HIS
prior income and SHE is working, will SHE be subject to the SS rules which require her
to pay back SS benefits if she earns more than $13,000 or the maximum allowable had
the SS benefits been hers instead? She receives NO SS benefits herself. I doubt it but
do not know. Does anyone know? I told her to call the SSA.

i may be wrong, but, i believe she is subject to the limit of income ($13000), technically she is receiving social security, when she does retire her benefits will be adjusted according to her work history.

I should have checked the internet before I posted the question. According to the
Social Security Administration internet site, her earnings WILL reduce her survivors
social security benefits by .385 IF her wages or earnings exceeds $14,160 (up from
$13,000) but only until she reaches FULL retirement age which for her is 66 according
      to their chart.
