"Bonus" Depreciation

Stuck in front of the computer on a Christmas Day waiting for company that should have been here an hour ago...That's OK. Callie's ham will just taste better.

I am hearing there is some kind of choice between electing "Bonus" depreciation or taking a refundable credit.

Having a hard time running down this. Anyone help?

There was for tax year 2008. Pertained to opting between bonus depreciation and research credit. Don't recall offhand if it is still alive for tax year 2009 however there is more intel than you would ever want to know available by googling it up.
