    election to change year end

    I have an estate that elected a calender year end when the SS-4 was filed. Now want to change year end to 2/28. (date of death was 3/2/09) Can the year end be changed? How?

      Yes, File the return using the 2/28/2010 year end. The ss-4 is not controlling on an estate's year end.
