    E Accountant

Does anyone have any experience with this service either using them or looking at them and deciding not to use them? Or just have a reaction to the idea? For anyone who doesn't know, here's the gist of how it is supposed to work.

A client who could be anywhere with web access goes to the site the company sets up for you or clicks a link on the site you already have. The company uses Google Ad Words to give you as many hits to the site as you want to pay for at $3 per hit. Overall they claim I believe that around three percent of hits ask you to do their returns and almost all of those pay.

The client basically goes through an experience similar to what they would do if they were using Turbotax. The result however is not a tax return but an organizer. The system also gives them ways they can enter their information documents themselves and/or scan them in so that you have actual copies. You have their phone number if anything is unclear or if you just want to have a policy of talking to every client at least once. You or someone in your office prepares their return and posts it on a secure website where they and no one else can find it. If they're happy with the return and your fee they make payment to E Accountant online and when you have received payment you release to them the ability to print copies and or produce pdfs that end up on their computer and if they so desire you electronically file the return and even do bank products after receiving the relevant signatures.

The downside is that they have the right to tell you your price is too high and by that time if they are industrious enough they might have made a hand copy of their return or simply confirmed that they or someone else got the right bottom line or perhaps one they prefer to yours.

The system offers $399 and 899 pricepoints and I am not clear on what you get for the higher price other than if you want them to create a special website for you then you have to pay the higher price. I believe that there are other benefits to paying the higher price but I'm not clear on what they are.

If you've read this far and have a response I''d like to see it. Please clarify whether you have actually used this service, have looked at it and rejected it, or don't know much about the company other than what I have told you.

Can you provide a link to their website? There appear to be several e accountants with sites.

I believe the links you have found are to sites of Tax Professionals using E Accountant.

        I have signed on

and done my training and I did learn that I said one thing wrong. When potential clients are deciding whether to make a payment all they get to know is their Federal and State Bottom Lines and my fee plus any message I choose to type in for them. To actually see the return they have to either pay my fee through E Accountant or request a bank product. Then they can review the return before signing it of course and if they have asked for a bank product they can still get off pretty easily but if they have paid through E Accountant they are not going to get their money back unless the company is satisfied that I have done the return wrong and won't change it. Naturally after they have reviewed the return they can contact me by phone or email with any concerns.

Another thing I didn't say is that twelve hours a day clients are able to exchange instant messages with tax professionals. They can also contact me by email or phone at any time.

This thread doesn't seem to have attracted a great deal of interest so I would suggest that anyone who wants to know more now or in the future sent me a Private Message or an email.

I maybe contacting you about this. I was little wary when I read your initial post because it sounded like they would get the return before the preparer was paid. I am glad you explained further in you last post.
