    Another FTHB question

Client lost house in Katrina 08/05. House was totally washed away. Only land was left.
Sold the land this year to the Road Home Program. Purchased a house this month to live in.
She has not had a home since Katrina. Does she qualify as a FTHB.

I would say yes, she does she qualify as a FTHB as long because she did not own a primary residence for the past three years. The house was destroyed, hence, not her primary residence since 08/05 even though she still owned the land.

I am also making the assumption her residence from 08/05 until last month when she purchased her residence was some form of housing that she did not have ownership, such as a rental.

If I'm missing something someone else will chime in.

      Where did she live?

If she lived on her land, please give us more details. If she lived someplace that she did not own, then she's a first time home buyer. As long as she had no ownership interest in her residence, which you haven't really described for us....

        More info

Jess and Lion thanks for the reply. Yes the client had to rent an apartment up until this month when she got her monies from the Road Home. Then she bought a home.
