    New Solid State Drive Computer

HP Compaq's 6005 Pro desktop computer is available as of Oct 22 which uses a 64 gb solid state drive and a conventional hard drive for storing data and documents at a cost of $774 and uses Windows 7 .It has a three year warranty. It appears that we may be entering a new age!

Not that new. Have you seen the little laptops about the size of a piece of paper. They are called net computers and have solid state drives. This is a progression from the embedded control computers, which have been available with MS-DOS, UNIX and windows.

The HP Compaq's 6005 is the first DESKTOP computer of which I am aware and I have been
checking the internet for this often.

I guess you are looking for low-end machines. The Alienware Area 51 Desktop machine has been offering SSD options for quite a while.

I was delighted too when I learned about these SSD and that they are available for an affordable price, which makes them available to everyone. They might have been around for awhile but not really for people like you and me.

The HP 6005 with SSD is so NEW that shipments of it have not yet arrived at the
            local BestBuy store.
