    EIC negative AGI

I am sure my software is correct. Somehow I must have misread the rules.

Does a T/P qualify for EIC with a negative AGI due to NOL?

I thought zero AGI equals zero EIC. Just some confirmation needed.

    EIC Worksheet B

Gretel, some self-employed people may bail out of a negative AGI by electing to pay SE tax via the "Optional" method.

See Worksheet B under the EIC instructions.

is what determines eligibility for EIC. I have no idea whether an NOL would figure into the equation but if I were you I would check out TTB.

        Thanks, Snag and Erchess.

Snag, it's not negative SE just negative AGI.

Erchess, I checked out TTB but will do again.

I discovered my misunderstanding. It's with line #8. Leaving this line blank is not the same as having a zero on it.
