Amend 2003

I have a client I have to amend 2003. He forgot to put on his return a W2 and now just got a letter to amend it.
My question is: The person that filled it out is no longer in business. Do I sign it or what?
I was not certified back in 2003 with the IRS til this year. Thank you.

Amended

I would think you would sign the amended return, you are preparing it, has nothing to do with your professional status in 2003. The date on the amended return is 2006.
