Smartphone Splinter - Not tax related

    All,
Anyone else here use a touch screen smartphone? If so, how do you like it? I'm about ready to trade in my Blackberry Storm touchscreen for something with buttons again, but I'm wondering about other's experiences with the touch screen phones. I find them a bit hard to type on. Thoughts?

Anyone ever notice they beat the daylights out of the definition of a child, but they don't spend much time at all defining "parent"?

To Each His or Her Own

I am seriously thinking of trading my US Cellular phone with buttons for a Jitterbug phone with buttons just to escape the camera feature on my current phone. I don't send or receive text messages and my only computer is a laptop that I take with me virtually any time I leave the house so I don't do email on a phone. I don't even have my contact list on my phone and I certainly don't want a phone that doubles as a music player or handheld computer.

      iPhone

After getting a Razr or something different than my husband's Palm last time, when we went shopping this year I decided to get whatever hubby got so I could ask him questions and learn from what he researched, heard about at work, etc. He looked at the new Palms but chose the iPhone, so I did too. I love it. Hubby loves his even more and has pages and pages of apps. It's actually easier to type on than the tiny keys on his old Palm. You have to learn to just tap lightly and slide and not to press. Changing pages is about like turning a page. You can enlarge (and then reshrink) the whole screen or anything on the screen -- great for us aging baby boomers with changing eyesight. Turn sideways and your screen reorients itself for a wider view. While sideways, the keypad is larger. And, the number/dial pad is the whole size of the screen when you turn on the phone, so very easy to dial a phone number. Look for on-line demos of your top choices. And, play with all of them at your friendly, local AT&T store. Enjoy!

        As I mentioned

some time ago my laptop went gunnysack.

So I purchased a T-Moble G1 which does everything I need. So no more laptops.
