    Non-tax question

I'm followin' Redneck's polite example of not leadin' people astray and labelin' non-tax stuff as such. So...here's the question:

Anybody know where you can get a good taco? I'm just in the mood for a crisp, crunchy, beefed-up, lettucized, mild-sauced bitefest. Franchise-food joint recommendations only please, since we cain't come to your local greasy spoon or fancy restaurant.

Well - as was said in one movie "Opinions vary". To me the terms good and Taco are contradictory. Now if you get my wife's opinion, she always likes tacos.
Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".

After moving from Southern California 25 years ago to Northern California AND not finding anything close to a taco, I started making my own. I had friends send some of the ingredients as none were available here. Finally a Taco Bell showed up one day, but I was already spoiled on my own. BUT, my wife swears by Taco Bell. They are not that bad, but I (If I must) prefer Jack in the Box.

I'll have to say that every taco I've ever eaten was tasty - some just better than others. I do prefer a couple of local family-owned Mexican resturants, but when I'm in a hurry Taco Bell is fine.

One quible here Bart. I can't understand why you'd use mild sauce - nothing but the hot stuff for me, and lots of it.

Taco Bell is a pretty poor excuse for a taco. I prefer my own and if you have a Mexican market around buy the shells and stuff there ¡mucho mejor!

Really though, the authentic taco is made with 2 small soft corn tortillas with one of a variety of meats; cow tongue, steak, pork, chicken, beef head, shredded beef, fried pig skin or chorizo sausage. Garnishes are limes, radishes, cilantro and boiled cactus.

Real Mexican tacos are never made with ground meat.
In other words, a democratic government is the only one in which those who vote for a tax can escape the obligation to pay it.

All TB has is mild sauce. If you want hot go here:http://www.davesgourmet.peachhost.com/ct_PRdaui.htm

              Taco Chains

Taco Bell has sauce that is hot enough for anyone who is not half dragon. I believe the range is Mild, Medium, Hot, and Fire. Mild for me.

I do enjoy Taco Bell but when I had a Del Taco available to me I thought they were much better. That said, I don't like ordinary tacos because they break up on me when I eat them. I like soft tacos, burritos, enchiladas, nachos, and taco salads very much.

If you want a good filling for your burritos, Costco has Del Rey Carnitas. Probably the closest to the real carnitas pork that I have found.

I read an article a few days ago about a prison in Florida where the prisoners tend a garden with peppers. They produce sauces labeled "Original", "Smoke", and "No Escape". I'd like to try that last one...

Taco Bell is the best for burritos. I don't like their tacos much. I recently rediscovered them. The last time I tried their food (about 10 years ago) I had to sit on the throne for a few hours. It messed me up for several days Now I can eat their burritos... I like them so much I have gained nearly 10 pounds from eating them. I know its them because I did not gain the weight until I started eating there. Time to work out!!! I've also cut back on the burritos... once a month

                        Diners, Drive-ins & Dives

I suggest that you go online to the food network - www.foodnetwork.com and look at the show called Diners, Drive-ins & Dives.
Guy Fieri is the host and he travels all over the US finding the best places to eat. I'm sure he has been somewhere in Arkansas and may have even found the best tacos.

                        Have fun

here I thought a taco was a just a taco -- turns out sum'uv'em are a trip. Shoot, they've thought'a stuff which may not even be from this planet (kinda makes your lip curl up):

                          1. Chocolate Lobster Taco
                          2. Blue Corn Cuban Taco
                          3. Sour Orange BBQ'd Salmon Taco with Red Cabbage Slaw and Smoked Chile Sauce
                          4. ...you get the idea...

Unable to live a sophisticated non-hayseedish lifestyle here at Pigs Knuckle, I've gotta drive to Hot Springs (McLard's Cafe) to get a decent BBQ (couldn't find any tacos in AR) per this per Food Network, who also mentioned Prez Bill had it sent to Air Force One. Now I know he wasted lotsa money, but I'm proud of the fact that some of it went for worthwhile causes (BBQ and women).

Ah, the heck with it -- I'm makin' one I found that's in my microwave skill range: Taco Beef Nuggets -- it's got ground beef, Colby Jack, tortilla chips, water, and an egg (I oughta be able to handle this...)

TAX LINK: Have a retired, broke-folks, sometimes-client says he cooks edible BBQ and wants to set up a sales booth. If: all supplies bought within state limits/ credit cards not accepted/ one employee (local gal/sis-cook/also retired) hired; then -- no interstate commerce, ergo no minimum wage. Right? He thinks it'll fly he can pay five bucks instead of $7.25 min-wage. Used to be a sales ceiling (don't know now), but he'll be way under that ($30K or less). Any restraints outside income/ interstate commerce/ number of employees/ etc.?

P.S. Just thought, the (probable passing of) new health-care mandates for employers might kill it off -- she's not on Medicare yet and a box of Band-Aids is all he could swing.

                            State Minimum Wage

Don't you have a state minimum wage? In CT, the state labor department is even stricter than the federal.
