    Copies Of Original Returns

I have a customer that received a notice from the IRS saying that the 941 does not match the W-2 filed for tax year 2006. This is for a S-Corp that closed that year.

Rounded off $8,000 is shown on the notice for the 941... the W-2s submitted come to $4,000. I looked back and the $4,000 is what I put down as payroll on the S-Corp return. The officer/client did not have any payroll. Client is saying she is not sure where the other $5,000 came from. I am thinking it might have been for officer compensation but she did not file the W-2. I can not find any round amounts like that in the client's draws for that year either.

Long story longer.... she is wanting a copy of the 941 they are showing for the $5,000. She doesn't think that she filed one but can not find the copies she had. Let me say that the IRS is not saying she owes... only that the W-2 is missing.

IRS Rep she talked to said she would have to pay $54 to get copies of the original. Is there another way to get a copy of the original? Like through eservices?

    Thank you

You can get a transcript of the 941 from e-services.

      S-Corporation Wages

The difference wouldn't be health insurance paid for a greater than 2% shareholder, would it?

That would go on the W-2 in box 1, but not in the SS wages and Med wages Boxes.

And that amount isn't shown as insurance or employee benefits on the 1120S, it is shown as wages paid to shareholders.

        Thank you guys for responding.

No it wasn't health insurance. The clients were never able to get any because of some exisiting health problems.

The client is wanting to see the "original" she sent in. A transcript is just the numbers correct? She believes she did not send one in that quarter. I guess if she wants to see that she filled it out then that is the only way.

I am thinking that she just did not do a W-2 for the officer/husband. If she did not send in a 941 for that quarter... looks like they would be showing a balance due saying one was filled out.

          if you have POA

Try e-services, if you have the POA on the business, you will find what is filed and can maybe backtrack.
