Why the Medicare thread was deleted after I tried to refute the misinformation being presented there, but was left up for days beforehand?

It was deleted just as I was posting a response, so we both got zapped.
It was deleted because the moderators exercised their prerogative to take it down when it departed too far from their intended purposes with this forum. Joan, the thing had degenerated into a partisan political forum, name-calling, etc. after starting out as a tax-relevant post. The moderators haven't stated why the post was deleted, but they have expressed in the past that they want to keep the board free of these things. I began a post recently that got trashed too, for the same reason.
One sure sign that a thread has degenerated is when the participants start sound like that old "Tastes Great" -- "Less Filling" beer commercial
