I just recieved the new TRX demo for thier new software solution. It looks great I signed up for $299 with unlimited e-filing and all states for individual returns I spoke with a guy named Michael he was very nice he even did a screen share with me and showed me how to use the software. Has anyone used TRX before or seen the new solution?

    TaxWise?

Is that the TaxWise software as marketed by TRX or their own software that they are developing?

it is not Taxwise. It is being marketed as thier own software. Also they have an advance loan program they are letting ero's offer year round to thier customers that aren't ral's. It is going to be distributed on a visa debit card and as long as a client has a bank account they will be approved for a loan.and it's free for ero's to offer. They also offer the same amount of conversions as taxwise does.

I downloaded their trial version last night, and spent the evening working with it. It kind of reminds me of the way Drake works. I printed out their tutorial and went thru it putting in a tax return. I think that is the best way to learn how the program works, although I had some problems following their instructions. It has possibilities, but I need a lot more time to work with it. I also have already purchased my software for this year. But this will give me more time to work with it so I can make an early decision for 2010. I am also interested in what you find out about it. Do they have a forum to discuss their program? The price is also a very good reason to check it out.

I too have the TRX demo disk though...

I have not downloaded it yet. The only reason I am considering TRX is TRX in an email confirmed they support efiling AZ form 140 fiilng status MFS. Currently ProSeries does not. I have been and will remain in constant contact with ProSeries through Oct 2009. If by then ProSeries does not support efiling this AZ form, I most likely will change to TRX.
Good to know TRX support can take control of your computer.

            Haven't tried it yet

They left a message for me and told me that it was available to download but I haven't had time to do it yet. I may not be able to get to it till next week.

I do believe they said it is their own program. I am anxious to look at it as I have purchased the $299 and I don't like TaxWise.

Their website is a complete mess. Are they going to continue to sell the TW version? The website doesn't really talk about it and is instead selling a TRX-Pro version which I'm guessing is their software? To get what I was sold last year for $299 (and have already renewed) I'll need to spend $499 for their software? That's odd and not real comforting.

                Also...

You can also tune in to discussions re TRX via the ATXCommunity.com message board (UNofficial ATX board) which has forums for TRX and other topics as well as the ATX forum.

Before I switched from full price Taxwise to TRX, I asked specifically as to future availability of Taxwise software and was assured they have another five years contract to offer Taxwise.

That's enough time for this "shy and RETIRING" tax guy.

When I opened my trial TRX program I noticed that a box came up asking my permission to continue, in the box it mentioned Red Gear Technologies. That sounded familiar, so I went to the internet and called it up. It is the Tax Works Program, I looked at the 5 minutes demo, and the TRX program is Tax Works. Interesting! Does anyone know anything about that program?

TaxWork, TaxWise etc.....which one or is it both?

I never got a chance to download my TRX demo disk but I started a thread called "TRX-Alliance" a couple of months ago. MLINDER42 participated in that thread and upon reading, MLINDER42 says TRX-Alliance is using the TaxWise program. I will email TRX-Alliance.

The demo I just got was Tax Works, Not TaxWise.

Maybe they are just reselling Tax Works also.

Here is a review of the Tax Works software:
