I was wondering if any of you on this board who are California tax preparers have any recommendations for some good tax books or guides for the state of California. It seems sometimes it is very difficult to find out information about the changing tax laws or how the state does not conform to certain federal changes. I know CCH has a guide to California taxes but I did not like that one. I haven't been able to find anything in years that is really helpful. I noticed a book by Kathleen Wright called the California Income Tax Manual. I have never used it before so I am not sure if it is any good or not. The Franchise Tax Board website does not give that much information either. I know California is making several changes in 2009 and I want to be up to speed on all the changes. Would any of you recommend attending a seminar over buying a book? The taxbook webcd does not have much information for the states. Maybe they will add the all states or create another webcd for the states version. Anybody use the all states taxbook print version. Does it provide a lot of good info for each state or is it just general things.
Thanks!
