My psychologist wife had a "lady of the evening" client who explained to my wife about collecting for services - "we get our money up front"!

Several years ago, I saw "Racehorse" Haynes, a nationally known criminal defense lawyer on television. He was asked what was the most important thing he had learned. His reply"
was Get the money up front. If you don't, and he is convicted, you can't collect. If you get them off, the attitude is that it wasn't a difficult case anyway, so there is no reason for the bill to be that high.

Of course, some people put defense lawyers in the category in the same category as "ladies of the evening."
