      Informed Clients

As my clients came in this year I explained the change in their withholding,as they were told when they see a decrease in their withholding to adjust to bring them back to the original withholdings. Louisiana is also going the drop the withholding July 1 so I hope my client will remember what I told them (ha-ha) and adjust their withholdings.

I would be happy to share it with anyone that would be so inclined to send me a pm email to the email listed under my profile. (at least I think you can see it!)

I want to thank all you have posted ideas and references to learn more about this subject.
I was expecting emails, did not know all would go to the PM feature of the board. My mistake and part of the learning curve on the board.
I will try to get caught up this morning.
        Sorry!!
is there some way to have those messages go to email instead? I do not like the pm thing.

          AJ:
In your profile, you have set the preference that people cannot send emails to you. If you change that preference, then we can email the request to you. Or you can just post your email address in a reply on this thread. (I don't know whether one or the other is preferable, but I'm thinking that posting your email address in a thread might make it viewable by people you may not want to see it, whereas just allowing us to email you by changing your preferences would restrict access only to registered users of this forum.)

            Thank you

I will change that preference now.
I think I am caught up with everyone that sent me a message.
If one person is able to avoid problems next tax season through this letter I will be happy.
My real goal is to get the message out so every one knows the mess that was created.

I learned something new today, It is a good day!!!!

IRS Releasing Optional Pension W/H Tables

Here is a link to IRS Newswire IR-2009-050 that says that IRS will be releasing an optional pension withholding table and also talks a bit about thier plans to provide further education to taxpayers about the Stimulus package with warnings regarding certain situations that we have discussed.

                AJ's Tax,

You and I are in the same boat. I didn't know about the PM feature either. I had it set in my profile, but had never used it before. I just assumed that when someone wanted to contact me, that I'd receive an email. I'm going to disable the PM feature right now so that I can get emails only.....otherwise I'll NEVER remember to check on the PM box. I've sent my letter to a few people who have emailed me. I feel the same way you do. No charge, just want to help.

                Becky

Pocohontas, send me an email and I'll reply with the letter attached.

This is one step in the right direction. It will help those on private pensions IF the payer decides to use the OPTIONAL new tables. It is not even mandatory. So the ones receiving the pension will have to hope the payer takes on the burden of changing again to a new table or will have to request very forcibly that the new tables are implemented.
At least there is acknowledgment that there is a problem and more education is needed.

So already my letter is a little out of date, but only for a select few.
