I omitted what is to me the strongest evidence in the case and it favors calling them contractors. Each of these individuals practices the Farrier Trade more without my client than with him. As I understand it there is no certification or training or anything else you have to have to call yourself a farrier. There is however a national organization to which all these men belong and it has requirements for education and experience and apparently most horse owners know that they should have their horses shod only by members of this organization.
