    'Services' on Windows XP?

Changing the 'Services' settings caused my old computer to run faster and leaner. It was a good help to me. And i'd imagine that it might be helpful to others also.

First off, I'm already editing my 'startup' menu in the configuration. One should familiarize themselves with this 'startup' utility before looking at 'services.'

While on another forum someone informed me of another Utility which i was not aware of.

When i went in to the 'Services' window i discovered what was causing my computer's performance to slow down. In the Services menu i found programs which were running automatically -- programs were sucking up memory when i was not using them. (Quickbooks being one of the programs running.)

WARNING: It's very possible to really screw things up while using either one of these features. Read up before making any changes.
