    Injured spouse form

    These stupid forms from the IRS drive me nuts! I'm filling out the form for 2006-2008 and question 9 (below) comes with no explanation as to how or why:

    9) Did (or will) you claim a refundable tax credit, such as the health coverage tax credit or refundable credit for prior year minimum tax?

    Yes. Go to Part II and complete the rest of this form.
    No. Stop here. Do not file this form. You are not an injured spouse.


    Am I to assume that if my client did not have a refundable credit or prior year alt min, he is not considered an injured spouse or am I totally reading this incorrectly? Like I said, no direction for this line.

    I misread the form and should have skipped 6-9 after the way I answered q5.
