    After april 15th

You can tell how bad the tax season was and all of the pressure of filing returns and last minute extensions,

if you wake up on 4/16/09 really late, and decide not to deal with anything, emails, faxes, phone calls, take the day off, and go shopping, just to get back among the living.

Go run errands, like gas in the car, post office, etc,
"of course all business related" stop by Wal Mart for some office supplies, and some personal items that you have been out of for months,

Load all into the car, get home, and discover, that you left the 24 pack of toilet paper on the bottom of the cart and it did not make home! Oh ugh!

Oh well, my contribution to the economy, hope someone that was needy found it in the bottom of the basket in the middle of the parking lot!

Hoping Friday 4/17/09 will be a better day.

I hope April 17 is better, too

Hey, losing a 24 pack is serious. I hate to hear that, Sandy.

I spent yesterday doing payrolls and trying to do 1st qtr payroll tax returns. The wreckage in my office is really bad. And there's the 12 or so tax returns for which I got extensions whose stuff is there, and it's just a matter of time before they start wondering why I've not done their returns. After all, I have nothing to do NOW, except their return, right?

I'm taking off today, looking for a massage therapist, picking up my daughter's prom dress, and still thinking about everything waiting on me at the office. Why do I do that?
If you loan someone $20 and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

      The day after

Actually I always have enjoyed going to the office on April 16th, knowing that even with my
new summer hours, 10 - 1 there's no hurry. Still woke up at 6 am, though.

The day after is my annual "Count your blessings" day, if you know what i mean.

However on the day after I'm always reminded of the scene from Fidelio, in which after
the prisoners have been freed from their dark, dank dungeon, they stagger out into the sunlight shielding their eyes against the glare, and very thankful to be FREE again!

Well, I went to the beauty shop yesterday afternoon for my appointment. When I got their my beautician said "Your appointment is tomorrow afternoon!". Did I ever feel stupid? She is my client too. I wonder if she is having second thoughts about trusting me with her tax return.
So I went today and asked if it was okay for me to come in now.

Hope I find my brain soon.
