LIGHT READING -- that sounds awfully good. I'm getting some popcorn for the mind af Books-A-Million tomorrow; maybe some paperback westerns -- anything that doesn't require thought. I used to watch all news channels, devour the editiorials, etc. etc. and now...well, a years-ago cartoon that parodied the cigarette ads ("Caution: Watching the news may be hazardous to your health!") comes to mind. I'm getting to where anything that sounds serious gets ignored/switched/avoided. Just entertainment, if you please.

      Dahlonega, GA

is a small town delightfully nestled in the foothills of the Georgia Blue Ridge mountains. It was the site of our nation's first gold rush in the 1830s, and there is still a rich supply there but under water. Before the civil war, the US actually had a mint there for gold coins.

Saturday, they are having a bluegrass, crafts, and old-time music festival on the public square. I will be there. That is about as close as I can come to an end-of-the-season celebration.

Everything around the house, around the yard, Apr 30 taxes, that could be put off HAS been put off. I normally don't really come up for air until around May 1.

Today it's jammies, junk food, and westerns.

Tomorrow, it's cleaning up the disaster that is my office and returning phone calls I plan to ignore today.

May 1, hubby and I are going to ride off into the sunset for a few days on the beach.

          Luncheon

Our District Manager always has a luncheon for all of us and our significant others. This year my band is entertaining at the event. I need to get practicing. Haven't had much time in the last month.
