    Medical as a work expense

My client is a yoga instructor. She had a physical injury which hampered her ability to do her job. She sought professional serives to treat the injury. Can these services be a Schedule C deduction be if provided by a medical professional? What about a non medical professional?

In my opinion no, they are medical expenses, not schedule C deductions. If incorrect I'm sure to bet someone will jump in quick.

This is no different than any profession, if I break my arm and can't type to do tax returns, I'm out the revenue, but my medical costs would be schedule A not schedule C. Again, just my opinion.

A very similar question came up earlier this year on a different forum. In that case it was medical expenses for an "ultimate fighter." I think the same arguments would apply to a yoga instructor.

      Try googling "ultimate fighter medical".

        Jessie's right

        I think.

But I'd still look it up and check the "ifs, ands howevers and buts" related to self employed, if I were you cause.....well.....learned that lesson a long time ago the hard way.
