    FSA account & deductibility of health ins. premiums and med. costs

    Can you deduct excess medical expense over the FSA amount that was deducted on a pre-salary reduction basis? And can you deduct medical expense that was not reimbursed by health insurance if the employee paid health insurance was paid with pre-tax dollars?

    Nothing pre-tax can be deducted (unless added to W-2 at the end of the year).

        Yes, the medical expenses paid over and above the pre-tax amount is deductible.
