Is this correct to do.....MFS, each has his/her own primary residence they live in?

The IRS doesn't care if they live together or not. If they are married, the can file MFS or MFJ unless they could otherwise qualify for HOH. Although rare, some people separate and never divorce. So, they file MFS each year and might not even see the other person.You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted, then used against you. -
I have a couple of those MFS and I can't understand why they don't just divorce. One of my couples finally divorced after over 20 years of MFS, I've only had her as a client for the last 4 years. She said although she couldn't get along with him, she just always loved him so would not initiate the divorce. Finally he did and this year she's finally single at 70! Just weird.Comment

We have several, actually. some are for insurance reasons, not sure on a couple. Have two that live in different parts of the same city. Have a couple that live in different states.AJ, EAComment
