    Implants or Dentures - deductibility

    Scenario:

Any rulings available? Clients considering major necessary future dental expenses and if all of it would be deductible medical expenses.

The Dental expenses would be for implants for teeth versus dentures. Reason is that the client cannot wear dentures due to whatever problems it creates when the client try the dentures. Does not sound like cosmetic but not sure.

    thanks in advance

    Dental work

Dental work is an allowable deduction on Schedule A. You have to have teeth to eat. I have had clients that had a lot of dental work done and I included it in their medical.

      Agree

Ion the implants. Not sure if say whitening of teeth would be considered cosmetic but every other procedure I have heard of a dentist doing would be deductible with no questions asked.
