Auto Payment Options - None taken

I have a client who signed up for automatic debits of $150 per month to cover their 2008 underpayment. The return was prepared in mid February and payments were scheduled to be taken out on the 28th of each month.

The February and March dates have passed and no payments have been withdrawn. My thought is that they will start making payments after April 15th but I've not positive on this one. Nobody ever wants the IRS to do direct debits!

The client is getting nervous and I don't have a confirmed answer for her yet.

Thanks in advance - I am sure you are all warn down by now - I know I've had a rough couple of weeks.

Enjoy - Weekend is here... Maybe I can get this pile off my desk!!

Did your client get a letter from the IRS accepting the installment payment?
Your answer should be in the instruction for Form 9465.

    One paragraph from the instruction:

Note. We will send you a bill for the first payment and the
fee. You must send us your first payment. All other payments
    will be electronically withdrawn.

      Payment Options - None Taken

The 9465 was filed with her return {electronically}.
Assumption is that the payments would start upon receipt.

I have not confirmed if she did / did not get a letter from them. I will.

Would payments normally start after April 15th?
