EZ casualty loss question

I'm too fried to understand what I'm reading. Can someone take pity and help me out?

Client's vacation home (never rented) burned down in Nov 2008. He received all the insurance reimbursement he's going to get in 2009.

Do I include the insurance reimbursement in 2008 in calculating the casualty loss?
